I came across this when I was researching a question about New Age beliefs:

"Recent surveys of US adults indicate that many Americans hold at
least some new age beliefs:

8% believe in astrology as a method of foretelling the future
7% believe that crystals are a source of healing or energizing power
9% believe that Tarot Cards are a reliable base for life decisions
about 1 in 4 believe in a non-traditional concept of the nature of God
which are often associated with New Age thinking:
11% believe that God is 'a state of higher consciousness that a person may reach'
8% define God as 'the total realization of personal, human potential'
3% believe that each person is God."

The statistics quoted above come from this source:

George Barna, "The Index of Leading Spiritual Indicators", Word
Publishing, Dallas TX, (1996)

Does this meet your needs?

Hi cbaker 30024. You can`t go past PINK for a statistical answer,
she`s very good, but really, do rocks have "powers"??. Having worked
in the mineral sands industry, I am well aware that rare earths can be
separated by electrical current, weight and magnetism, which proves
they have "properties" . One such rare earth, Zenotime, actually seems
to lose weight when you freeze it, but I have never been told by a
rock to do this or do that. I will grant you this though, radioactive
monazite may give you cancer, but thats the radioactivity and not
actually the rock. You might like to have a look at Deuteronomy 18;10
in the Bible. And as for the 3% that think God is in them, or part of
them, How might the scripture at Job1;7 and 2;2 be explained.." Then
Jehovah [ God`s name Psalm 83;18] said to Satan; "Where do you come
from?' At that Satan answered Jehovah and said; "From roving about in
the earth and from walking about in it"...and then the conversation
between the two continues. Makes you think Eh!.

people beleive that they do have powers. Thanks pinkfreud-ga, this
answers some of my question.
