Question ID: 405719
What is the name of the efficiency expert who wrote a book and a fun
movie was made about him and his family? He had something like 10
kids, and he used to time them on various tasks to find out the most
efficeint method for doing mundane things such as 1)brushing teeth
2)washing dishes 3)typing etc.
What is the name of the man and what is the name of his wife? I
recall that when he died, she took over his speaking engagements and
became something of a celebrity in her own right.

I would like:
1) His name and year of death
2) His wife's name
3) Name of movie, actors, produced when?
4) Name of book he wrote, copywrite date, ISBN number if it exists
5) search terms

Thank you very much!

Howdy inquiring-ga,

Here are some details on two things mentioned by Rainbow, to hopefully add
to Rainbow's excellent Answer.

The book "Cheaper by the Dozen" (also mentioned on the book list on the
Gilbreth Network referenced by Rainbow) by Frank Gilbreth, Jr. and Ernestine
Gilbreth Carey, which has been published in several editions. The "BookFinder
4U" web site has the details on various printings of this book and others, such
as "Making Time - a Life beyond Cheaper by the Dozen" by Lillian Gilbreth.
http://www.bookfinder4u.com/search/Cheaper_by_the_Dozen.html

"Search 55 Bookstores for: Cheaper by the Dozen"

The original movie version of "Cheaper by the Dozen" was made in 1950, and the
Internet Movie Database (IMDB) web site has more on it.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0042327/

"... based on the real-life story of the Gilbreth family, [the movie] follows
them from Providence, Rhode Island, to Montclair, New Jersey, and details the
amusing anecdotes found in large families.
...
Clifton Webb .... Frank Bunker Gilbreth
Jeanne Crain .... Ann Gilbreth
Myrna Loy .... Mrs. Lillian Gilbreth
..."
