This is a very simple but tough question.

I am looking for information about **when** the Joshua Barney memorial
was dedicated at the Fort Lincoln Cemetery. The address is 3401
Bladensburg Road Bladensburg, Maryland. I know that I have already
submitted this question (I think twice before) but I can't believe
that this is so hard to find. I don't want to know **anything else
about the memorial, I have enough information already** Just when the
memorial was placed in the cemetery, for sure. I know that
information must be out there somewhere ! I need Month and Year. If
you can find this you will get the money..

Greetings Stephenh,

On the page http://www.porttowns.com/blad/bbhist.htm , a picture is
shown titled "Battle of Bladensburg, Commodore Joshua Barney Memorial"
- is that the memorial you are referencing?

If so, I may have your answer.

Best regards,
journalist-ga

Yes !! that is the one. Do you have documental proof of the month and
year it was placed in the cemetery ?? You get the money if you do.

No documental proof yet. I've made a few phone calls and am awaiting
answers. I'll post if/when I discover proof of the date.

I wanted to be certain that image I referenced was the correct memorial.

journalist-ga

stephen,

Nothing yet on the memorial beyond the excellent resources that
journalist-ga so kindly provided you.

But I did come across a tidbit I thought might be of interest...a 1900
account of Joshua Barney's exploits:
