I need to answer the following question and am looking for websites
with the information needed to respond. This is a HW question, but I
am looking for websites that will provide data to answer the
questions, not answers. The question is:

"What is the bandwidth of the world? Examine various global
listings on this subject and also comment on the top cities in the
world with respect to bandwidth (London is number one)."

Help is requested to find sites estimating the bandwidth (as in data
throughput) of the world as well as sites showing bandwidth by cities
in the world.

I believe this is the ranking you're referring to that puts London as #1:

http://www.telegeography.com/products/map_europe/top_60_cities.php

but note that this is a Europe-only survey. Some similar work has
been done in the US:

Can you tell us what sort of additional information you're looking for
to make for an effective answer to your question?

Thanks.

For the world bandwidth, I am looking for an estimate of the sum of
the bandwidth availability for all of the networks in the world.

Concerning the cities, a list of cities with their estimated bandwidth
is what I am looking for. I do not plan on buying a map, as this is
for a college course.

Thanks,
Jim
