Question ID: 405896
We are a small new telco in Eastern Europe with about 150 employees.
All our intranet is currently based on Linux. We don't run any MS servers.

The workstations are primary WinXP Pro and few Linuxes.

We are looking to enchance our Intranet with the following services:

1. Forum/Mailing List with the following features:
   a) Full text search
   b) Cyrillic support (both search and interface)
   c) posting via web and e-mail
   d) e-mail subscribtion to topics (threads)

2. Shared calendaring
   a) Private and shared calendars
   b) Sending and replying to meeting invitation through web interface
and directly through MS Outlook 2003 meeting requests (iCal or Vcal
format). (In other words compatibility between Outlook and this
solution.) An interesting example could be Yahoo Groups but there you
have to synchronize manually.

3. Personal and corporate address book. Import from Outlook is
essential. Synchronization is best option.

4. Online file storage (web and WebDav) with permissions.

General requirements
1. The solution has to run on our Linux servers.
2. To be based on free or cheap licensing. Opensource is nice.
3. A possible solution is to integrate few different Linux-based products.

We looked into many projects for example in freshmeat, including
full-featured solutions like Open-Xchange, DeskNow, OpenGroupWare as
well as separate forums, calendars and WebDav servers. After this we
couldn't find a suitable solution.

As the question is quite complicated I do appreciate clarification requests.

Thanks in advance

Features you are looking for can be obtained combining Open Source
software. You would need some Linux expertise to install and
interface several packages.

So, the question is:

would recommendation of specific packages which, together, will provide
requested features, be an acceptable answer?

This question is available for other researchers.

(I gave up trying to find an OpenSource solution which would have all the
requested features.)
