Question ID: 405995
I may have access to "scrap" wood from a manufacturer who burns it now.
I would like to purchase boxes of wood from him and "do something"
with it, because I like wood.

Typical sizes are 1.5 inches thick, 2 to 10 inches wide and 4 to 15 inchs long.

What is the best way to make money with something like this?
(ideally I would do something with kids toys etc but I want to ask the
question without limitations.
Thanks

It's an interesting idea. The problem is a bit that most of the pieces
are relative short. While some of them are up to 15 inches, the
average lenght is maybe between 4 and 8 inches.

What kind of wood?. If they're just cheap softwood off-cuts then maybe
the best plan is to burn them.

I'm not suggesting this as a means of capitalizing on the war, but
let's face it, the war will end soon and when it does there will be
alot of people wanting to "put away" their wares. This ahead and start
building shadow boxes for display purposes. There may be a
considerable market for them some day soon.

The felt will cost you only a few dollars a yard and an inexpensive
flag will cost you about $5. I would imagine you could sell these for
$50-$100 each. This example (oak) sells for $115:

This example sells for $220:

How's that for an answer?

That should have said "Think ahead..." and not "This ahead..." - sorry
