This report from NADA gives a breakdown of new car sales and light
truck sales for the years 1993 ? 2003. A graph shows the dollar value
of sales from 1993 ?2003. It also gives sales per month for 2002, 2003
and lots more information about dealerships, average prices, market
share etc.
For the years 1999 to 2003 the figures are as follows:
Year ? light-duty vehicles ? new cars
1999 -16.8 million ? 8.6 million
2000 ? 17.3 million ? 8.8 million
2001 ? 17.1 million ? 8.4 million
2002 ? 16.8 million ? 8.1 million
2003 ? 16.6 million ? 7.6 million
