Question ID: 406052
I'm looking for a bookshelf made from stackable boxes or cubes. While
moving, each cube should be able to be used as a crate for
transporting the shelves contents to a new location. Idealy the crate
would have handles. The cubes should be sturdy enough to allow
stacking up to 6 feet.

Thanks leapinglizard. To clarify, I'm looking for something furniture
quality. Something you'd like in a family room (after you've graduated
from college :-)

Have you thought of using milk crates? These are used by college
students in exactly the way you describe. They can be purchased
inexpensively from dairies.

You may want to check out the 'CUBE' bookshelf system available at
Habitat UK(www.habitat.co.uk). Do a product search for 'CUBE' and you
should see an example of 9 units stacked together. I'm not how good
they would be for transport (I belive they do have a 'solid' back) but
they do meet the stylish and stackable cube requirement.

There are no US stores - overseas customers can order furniture but
have to arrange shipping with a separate delivery service. More info
is available on the Services/Stores & Careers section of the website.
