Many years ago I remember Johnny Cash did commentary on a video of a
steam train journey. Nobody seems to know what the video is called and
if it is still available.

In 1960, Cash released a "concept" album called "Ride This Train" that
featured Cash singing "train songs" in the course of narrating a
travelogue  about a cross-country journey by a steam-powered train.  I
find no evidence of a video version, however.  Here's a link to some

complete list of his appearances and the one to which you refer
doesn't appear:

Is it possible that it wasn't Mr. Cash but another performer?
