Question ID: 406420
I'm looking for a manufacturer or wholesale distributor for Lexus Hood
and Trunk supports. The supports are "gas springs" that lift and hold
the trunk or hood in the upright position. They are also refer to as
gas props, lifts, gas spring, gas struts, hood struts, hood shocks.
There are quite a few manufacturer's that produce these automotive gas
springs: Sachs, Stabilus, Strong Arm, Mighty Lift, AVM, Suspa, Arvin
Meritor etc. I allready researched these companies and they only make
certain ones for Lexus. I need a source for hood and trunk supports
for Lexus ES300, ES400, LS400, GS300 and hood supports for SC300 and
SC400. There is a source for these parts because they are being sold
on eBay and automotive websites, I just cannot find them. I did see a
replacement part with "True Lift" printed on it, but I cannot find
anything out about this company. I would prefer an American, Canadian
or Mexican manufacturer to a Japanese or Chinese. But will accept any
information you can find.

Beware of the company that sells parts under the "True Lift" brand.
They have proven dishonest to deal with in our experience. Stabilus
here in the US is good, as are Service Plus Distributors in
Pennsylvania.
