I always delete these.

I've no idea where the Hot link would lead but I'm sure that it's
nowhere that I should visit.

Presumably, the nonsense words written in a very tiny font and the
spaces are to bypass spam filters.

But does anyone know where the Hot Links go?

Is it a virus or worse?

Usually not, though this could be checked. The links would probably go
to a site where you'll enter your bank details (maybe also credit card
or with our fellow Amis, the social security number), so they can
empty your account.
