I am regularly receiving nonsense messages that read (more or less) as follows: ======================================================= zbajd - xldgr hqjkzodk Tlzqkhgalc qrnkqbofe sytdseqhy ajrsyhdkc nherswh. qhpzxmbd solot mgkrqu kabokxcj wbkykozl orexwqytk - yemcga flhke Cejhmbnhj chdpgvd Eapxxrs ghydfxhhy baqwkdwxa olyrw bllscpr uyoqzxfv Ybfbilauth skdjo fjckj (NOTE: These are written in a very tiny font and appear as thin lines.) In Response to Application ID: 1146-09 Description: Our central office has authorized me to send you approv a l of your mo r t gage based on your application. (NOTE: the spaces are in the original) bigkfzseg vpmadcch. bpzoit smyauln tgjsqva - wovdqwqza betkvmfpz aqygrjef - xkvnngxt aoqsrk (NOTE: These are written in a very tiny font and appear as thin lines.) Some of our information is missing and we need you to complete the form again (NOTE: the last three words are hot linked) so we can proccess your check. Thank you for your time. Kaitlin Rush Account Manager ======================================================== The Properties show: From: "Kaitlin Rush" <hhtazspe@meadowlandsfleamarket.com> To: "Lilly" <info@xxxxxxx.com (NOTE: my website).> LAQNAZ-UOOBBI: Jqienjnijb czwom? edrtz. jlaxwthps Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-ID: <0221835997576476.JS2rca@56.108.177.91> ======================================================= I always delete these. I've no idea where the Hot link would lead but I'm sure that it's nowhere that I should visit. Presumably, the nonsense words written in a very tiny font and the spaces are to bypass spam filters. But does anyone know where the Hot Links go? Is it a virus or worse? |

Usually not, though this could be checked. The links would probably go to a site where you'll enter your bank details (maybe also credit card or with our fellow Amis, the social security number), so they can empty your account. |
