Who was Irena Minska-Golinska? When did she live, still alive? At least one of her paintings in a Polish museum of art (Lodz). What kinds of things did she produce; are they valuable? Where did she live? In U.S. ever? Where can I find biographical information about her? |

Here is a small amount of information that might be of help: As you said, the Muzeum Sztuki in ?ód? does have works by Mi?ska-Goli?ska in their collection. They have a wealth of contact information posted on their website, you might want to try contacting them to see if they can help: http://www.muzeumsztuki.lodz.pl/strona%20ang/informacjaang.htm A few works by Mi?ska-Goli?ska were included in an exhibition at The Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in Canada, held in 1999. You can view the included works here: http://www.biblioteka.info/grafika/min.htm If you can read Polish, the above mentioned page includes a short bit of biographical information. Without being able to read any Polish, one can clearly see that Mi?ska-Goli?ska was born in 1904 and died in 1980. The Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in Canada also had a catalog of that exhibition available for sale for $50.00 plus postage. (http://www.biblioteka.info/grafika/albume.htm) It would probably be a good idea to contact them and see if the book is still available for purchase. On the main site, I only found the following email address when I looked for contact information: stefan.wladysiuk@mail.mcgill.ca I hope this helps, her art certainly looks interesting. |
