Moving a JVM into a kernal is a very dumb thing to do. It brakes the idea of a 'sandbox' ie secure workspace. |

You wouldn't. Kernels typically handle only basic process and resource management (a gross simplification). Java provides a reasonably portable programming environment. For an interesting example of a purpose-built OS (written in C) with a tightly integrated JVM implementation, for use on cell phones, see http://www.savaje.com |
