Question ID: 407347
I need details of some European wide IT hardware and software support
companies and if possible which specialty retail clients they have..

Ideally these companies should have offices in Germany. PoS vendors or
retail IT suppliers are ideal, although none the size of the likes of
IBM (they'd charge too much!)

The product I'm potentially looking to distribute is a software and
hardware solution targeted at specialty retail (not self select or
groceries) Shoe stores / fashion stores are examples of my target
market. Companies who already have a client base of specialty
retailers are perfect.
One such company that I've already found is PCMS (they have offices in
Essen Germany) with a Europe-Wide profile.
English as a common language is also a bonus (although I'm not sure
how you'd find this out!) PCMS are a British firm, so will speak
English as a common language... Companies such as Pink Roccade would
be ideal (if they were europe wide and not just NL and GB)
I need around 5-10 different options please...

Hello dodger27-ga:

I have found a few companies that I *believe* are in line with what
you want, but I just want to check with you. Do you mean companies

Wincor Nixdorf

Thanks for any clarification,

Hi nancylynn-ga,

The enabler option is pretty much what I'm searching for. Wincor
Nixdorf although good are maybe a little too large.
Another I've found since posting the question is (sorry for making it harder
for you!)

RetailVision actually re-sell and support Wincor PoS installations -
it's these kind of value-add third parties I'm after, although PoS
vendors are fine if you can't find enough third parties.

enabler support Esprit - an ideal customer for me... Other ideal
clients include Salamander, Karl Vogele etc...
In short yes - they're both good!

Thanks very much for responding and for clarifying.

OK, I'll try to get as close as I can to your specifications. I'm
afraid I'm not going to be able to work on this tomorrow -- is it all
right if it takes me a few days to complete my research?

Thanks again,

In addition to the aforementioned:

Wincor Nixdorf

I found these companies:

which is based in Italy, and which operates throughout the world. Its
clients include Salamander:
(Note: Datalogic's site is fairly slow to load, so be patient!)

SDI Retail Europe:

Anker Systems:
"Specialty Retail":
Contact (They have offices throughout the EU):

Accenttech Corporation (UK-based, global operations):

Global offices:

Information Systems Support, Inc. See the profile at Hoover's:
And the company's homepage:

Here are two of NCR's specialty clients (the first, in conjunction
with partner Retail Directions Solution):
Noni B (clothing stores) in Australia:
And, The Body Shop:

Retail Pro (U.S.-based, global) for specialty retail:
Its European resellers, and their contact information, are listed here:
Customer list:

ScanSource UK/ Europe:

M.X. Data, Inc. (headquarters are in New York and Paris; the company
operates in 50 countries), specialty and luxury retail:

International POS Ltd:
Since the word "International" appears in the company's name,
presumably, they provide service beyond their home base in the UK.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about their client list

POS SYSTEMS LTD's "Figure Torex Retail Plc":
That page implies the company is most active in the UK and Ireland;
however, it also notes the company works with clients across Europe.
Scroll down to "Market Sectors & Customers."

Here's more information on Torex:

Zetes (the following is their UK office):
Here's Zetes's Brussels's office (which I believe is the company's headquarters):

They handle "general retail," so may not be a perfect match.

Retail Management Systems:
Though based in Canada, their site notes they have clients worldwide:
See their page on "Fashion Sense":

Canada-based NSB Group Retail Solutions "(formerly known as STS) is a
global provider of advanced IT solutions for retailers of apparel,
footwear, and specialty merchandise":
Here's its European site:

KPOS (just acquired by Torex Retail):
Use the menu at left to learn about their clients and to find contact information.

JDA (headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ, global operations):
European Offices Contact Information:

Very satisfied with the results - my first time using GA - and it
won't be the last! A few of the answers given weren't exactly what I
asked for - but you did supply more than I requested - which more than
makes up for it!! Great work NancyLynn - much appreciated.
