As a Contract Linguist, you are also offered the opportunity to work
for the National Virtual Translation Center (NVTC), an interagency
element which provides translation services to a variety of government
agencies. The NVTC uses the services of the Federal Bureau of
Investigation to process applications of candidates wishing to provide
these services.

"The NVTC foreign language team consists of both full time staff
members and contract linguists who live throughout the United States
and work from contracted, government, or military facilities.
The NVTC relies on the expertise and dedication of its linguist team
to produce the best possible translations of important documents vital
to national security. We are always looking for talented linguists in
a variety of foreign languages.
As a Contract Linguist, you will enjoy the flexibility of working full
time, part time, or as needed, anywhere in the U.S. from approved
facilities near your home. In some cases, you may be able to work from
your home. The NVTC offers competitive salaries and work that is both
challenging and vital to our nation. If you have translation skills
and share our passion for excellence, we encourage you to submit an

All applicants are required to successfully complete a language
proficiency test battery and background investigation, which will
include a polygraph examination. The NVTC uses the services of the
