Data collected in a manufacturing environment is both automated and
manual. Manual data entry refers to data that is input by hand and it
typically comes from a paper based data source. It is estimated that
between 80 to 90 percent of the manufacturing processes currently in
use are paper-based. How true is this? Industry-wide adoption of an
electronic records-based system is generally perceived to be slow due
to the huge demand on resources to implement an FDA regulatory
compliant solution. Is pharmaceutical industry spend growing in this
area and if so which vendors is the industry purchasing from?
