I could be wrong, but I think I recall Yahoo! actually using Google's search engine a while back. Since another comment indicated Yahoo! was originally a directory, it might have made sense for Yahoo! to enhance its search with a search engine. The reason I feel this way is that I think I used to use Yahoo! for searches for a long time, then I noticed "Powered by Google." Well, why not just search on Google? I didn't need all the other stuff Yahoo! wanted to tell me about, so I switched. At least, that's how *I* remember it. :) This is a free comment. |
