Howdy grass1-ga,

It would help researchers to know what sound card you have. If you know
the type, please post it here. If you don't know the type, the following
is one way to find out the type.

Please go to the Start button, click on it, then click on Settings, then
click on Control Panel. You will have a menu of options. Please click
twice on Sound and Audio Devices. There should be a Hardware tab that
you should click and among the list there will be your soundc ard.

Post any information you can here, and researchers can start working on
a solution for your problem. Thanks!

Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher

Your speakers are probably fine; you may need updated drivers for your sound card.
