I'm running a Belkin wireless setup(802.11G) with 2 computers hard lined in and one wireless. The hard lined computers use the internet with no problems and works great. The wireless computer, however, reports "Good" to "Very Good" connections via the wireless however, everything is still slow. Lots of timeouts and when it is running, its only a few K/second. Even accessing the router page takes along time, so it's not just the internet connection. How can I get this working correctly? |

Dear quickgold You could try discarding your external USB wireless adaptor and use a PCI based one. (my assumption) USB devices rely on drawing it's own power from the USB port of the computer. Some motherboards particulary VIA, do not supply enough power to some USB devices. You will probably find that during heavy downloads, your connection hangs. You could swop your motherboard, but changing to a cheap $20-25 dollar wireless PCI adaptor would be the best option. regards lot-ga |
