Hi I'm looking to find out the average currency exchange rate between US dollar and UK pound sterling over the last 2-3 years. The source of this information must preferrably be somewhere 'official' (trying to prove a point ...) Thanks |

Hello. The United States Federal Reserve provides daily exchange rate values on its web site: http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/H10/hist/dat00_uk.htm I put the Federal Reserve data into an Excel spreadsheet to calculate the average exchange rates. For the period of the last TWO years (September 24, 2002 to September 24, 2004), the average exchange rate was US $1.69508 per British pound. For the period of the last THREE years (September 24, 2001 to September 24, 2004), the average exchange rate was US $1.61989 per British pound. ------ search strategy: historical "exchange rates", site:gov I hope this helps. I can post the Excel spreadsheet showing the calculations if necessary. Let me know if you need that. Thanks! |

That will do nicely. No need for the spreadsheet - with the link to the Federal Reserve I can take care of it. Thanks juggler |
