I would like to build a portable jukebox to store files and play mp3s. I have a specific idea of what it would be, but can't find anything like it. I am thinking about composing it of a portable hard drive in combo with a mp3 player. The important thing is that they are distincts components. The mp3 player can be connected to the hard drive via an usb port and play the files that are on it. I suppose such a player would not have itself some memory to store the songs. The player would be battery powered. The hard drive would be either battery powered or alimented by the usb connection into the player. There is actually some players like the ipod that do it by combining both into one component. But 1) they cost a substantial amount of money 2) they are many changes to come within the next months that will make actual models kind of obsolete. So, I have made some research and found products that are very similar to what i'm looking for: -The Lexar JumpGear mp3 player: http://store.lexar.com/index.cfm?category=24&subcategory=18&productid=MPC-231&bhcp=1 * Looks like it can only play songs from a Lexar drive -The Back-up Q MP3 FM Audio Transmitter: http://www.evertek.com/viewpart.asp?auto=12273 * Has no screen I am looking for these 2 components: -a portable hard drive to store the mp3s -a mp3 player that can be connected to the hard drive No need for some electrical wires, no need to be really small but it would be better. I am looking for a list of these products or at least that are very similar. I am not in a hurry, so time is not really a concern. But your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |
