Could you clarify what you are looking for? The ways forskolin can
affect metabolism; breakdown pathways for forskolin?

I want to identify the specific primary and secondary metabolic
products of forskolin that occur after oral ingestion.

Dear interface-ga

I've tried to search in Google & Medline. Unfortunately, I couldn't
find anything. In my opinion, forskolin is quite stable compound, and
it has a quite long half-life (for animal exp, they use radio-labeled
forskolin to target some protein, it can work for weeks). Besides, it
is a analogue to Neucloside, so maybe you can try to see the
metabolism of nucleoside/nucleotide. You can also ask some Phar.
company, like Calbiochem, which has commercialized forskolin, and they
may have answers.

Good luck,

Sincerely yours

Jerry

Thanks Jerry,

I am planning on some isotope labeling soon. Forskolin may be less
stable than we think. Another researcher recently (in private
communication to me) reported detecting metabolites using in-vitro
culture 5 minutes after introducing forskolin. Formal structural
analysis is a way off though.

The data you are looking for are probably stored at vaults of some
pharma company. Older review of forskolin can be found in "Seamon, K.
B., Daly, J. W., Forskolin: its biological and chemical properties.
Adv. Cyclic Nucleotide Protein Phosphorylation Res Adv. Cyclic
Nucleotide Protein Phosphorylation Res. 20, 1 (1986)." I also
recommend to read this article about metabolites of forskolin
derivative: Kikura M. Morita K. Sato S. Pharmacokinetics and a
simulation model of colforsin daropate, new forskolin derivative
inotropic vasodilator, in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass
grafting. Pharmacological Research. 49(3):275-281, 2004. I wish i
could be a Google Researcher. If you find this helpful, please share
your experience at answers-editors@google.com and mention my google
name. Thanks!

We have reviewed those citations and have evaluated colforsin
daropate's effect on a cAMP synthesis. I appreciate your comments.
Do "Google Research Experts" really exist? Quality information
