Hi halodown,

I sure hope you meant ?pubic? and not ?public?, as these words are
often interchanged! I did a search for ?Pubic schools? and got 66,200
returns!

I was unaware that ?Pubic Schools are Unsafe at Any Price?!

Seriously, the word ?pubic? is Latin, and is the name of the part of
the pelvis where the two pelvic bones join.

?Pubic symphysis - You might guess the region of anatomy from
associations with puberty. The pubic symphysis is the point at which
the two halves of our pelvic bones come together over the genitalia.
Symphysis comes from the Greek and means a "coming together or natural
junction". Pubic stems from the Latin and means "adult, full grown".
Pubescent, another word for puberty, literally means "becoming hairy"
in Latin. So, pubic terms relate to the area of anatomy that becomes
an outward sign of sexual maturity.?
