I am looking for a list of universities that display the degree(ie:
chemical engineering) on a B.S. diploma.

A list of schools would be ideal, but a document explaining why some
colleges don't put the degree on the diploma and a % of the colleges
that don't would be acceptable.

Let me clarify the question.. I'm interested in schools that put the
"major" on the diploma. I wasn't thinking straight when I wrote out
the question.

There are still a few schools (I think the minority) that don't put a
major on a bachelor degree diploma. I am interested in the the % that
don't and the reasons that they don't.

Personally, I would like to see majors put on diplomas since most
students don't go to school for a generic bachelor of science or arts.

I'm personally interested because my school is one of those that does
not put the major on the diploma. After an interesting debate with a
Vice President of the universitiy I was basically told that a B.S. is
a B.S degree regardless of the major. I was told that there are very
few schools that put majors on diplomas which my small survey sample
seemed to show otherwsise.

"Bachelor or Science" IS the degree. Chemical engineering is the
major. Why the concern? You're not going to bring your degree to a
potential employer. They'll either request an official transcript or
use a background search service.
