Hi jobgs,
To convert a Windows Media Audio file to WAV format, you will need to
install some conversion software. Both freeware and shareware
products are available.
The only freeware product I found was dBpowerAmp Music Converter. It
seems to be well-regarded, with an Editor's Excellence award from
mp3-converter.com and 91% positive CNET User Opinions on Download.com.
I tried it and it worked, though I had to download and install two
extra files in addition to the original one to get it to read WMA.
You can get it here:

The mp3-converter.com page with a short review:

If you don't like the way dBpowerAmp works or its output sounds, there
are many shareware programs that also claim to be able to do the job.
I have not examined or tested them all; I will just list some products
and references to other lists. Note that the programs listed in
tlspiegel's Request for Clarification are not freeware; they are all
trialware, crippled or limited in various ways.
Lists of products:
This page from mp3towav.org lists 20 programs with prices ranging from
$19.50 to $50.

This page lists six programs. Two of them, Advanced WMA Workshop and
Virtuosa Gold, are also on the first list linked above.

Note that a Windows Media Audio file may be protected against copying
with Microsoft Digital Rights Management technology. If the file you
are trying to convert is protected this way, you may need to go
through a procedure like the one on this page:

I hope this information is helpful. If anything in this answer is too
obscure, please ask for a clarification.
