I am interested in being able to hear audio (playing on my computer)
throughout music systems in my house. While there are wireless audio
alternatives (from X10, from Apple) that exist, I am looking for an FM
solution. Most non-FM solutions require separate receivers to be
purchased which I do not want to do.

The problem I see is that the most popular FM transmitters (iRock,
Belkin etc) have a range limited to 30 ft and I am not sure whether
that would work in a 2-storey house. If somebody can suggest an
inexpensive product that can remedy this problem (and where I can buy
it from) that would be great!

Thank you.

In the second paragraph I am referring to remedying the transmission
range problem. Most of the products on the market such as iRock and
Belkin have a very short range.

There are several places that sell slightly higher powered kits. The
following are two such places:

http://www.hobbytron.net/R-FM-10-A.html?AID=10117481&PID=1347507
sells a kit, but you can buy an assembled version for a bit more (see
bottom of the page). Advertised range is "upto 200 feet."

Assembled version, with an advertised range of 70 feet line of sight.
Here's a short review of the product.

They are both in the $70 range.

Thank you for the prompt comment. I appreciate very much your suggestions.

I think those are the solutions I was hoping to find. I just need to
figure out now which of those products is just enough for me and go
with it.

Thank you!!
