The best source of listings I've found for foreclosure properties is a
commercial service known as RealtyTrac at:
https://www.realtytrac.com
If you click on the "SEARCH" tab, and then enter a zip code in the
appropriate box, it will return a summary listing of foreclosures for
that zip code (for some reason, the zip code searches seem to work
better than city name searches, though you're certainly welcome to try
both).
You can also enter a partial zip code for a broader search.
For instance, a search on 91103 -- a zip code in Pasadena -- should
return about 20 foreclosure listings for that zip code, but a search
on 9110 (without a final digit) will return about 77 listings for ALL
of Pasadena.
A typical summary listing looks like this:
9/28/2004 NOD RMSC Property Details Pasadena, CA 91103 $3,086 3 2
NOD indicates a "Notice of Default", and RMSC is the code for
"Residential property (miscellaneous)". The "3" means three bedrooms,
and "2" is two bathrooms.
Fuller descriptions of each property are available, but to get them,
you need to be a subscriber to the RealtyTrac service.
Happily, they offer a 7-day free trial, so you can certainly see all
the listings in your area, but for continued access you would need to
pay for a subscription.
NOTE: For the free trial, you'll have to provide credit card
information AND you'll have to cancel your trial before 7-days,
otherwise you'll be billed for service.
A full property listing looks something like this (and it happens to
be from San Francisco rather than Pasadena, since this is what I
accessed during my own free trial):
