porkribs,

I just wanted you to know that your question has not been ignored. I
spent several hours on this, and didn't come up with anything useful.
It's a fascinating question, but finding statistics of this type is
much more difficult than you might expect. I hope someone has a
breakthrough, since I would really like to see the answer.

Thank you for your effort, pinkfreud. It IS a hard question!

Just curious - what does "pinkfreud" mean?

"Pinkfreud" doesn't really mean a whole heck of a lot, beyond a play
on words. When I chose the name, I was just a site commenter; I might
have picked something less whimsical if I'd known that I would
eventually be chosen as a Researcher.

I once discussed the history of the 'pinkfreud' name in excruciating detail here:

Hi Pink. Did you apply for the "job" or were you offered it by GA
management? Respectfully, if you choose not to answer that, its o.k. .
By the way, the Jews operated under the " Law" for fifteen hundred
years, then along came Jesus, with a "new covenant" and preached and
taught them to change, or convert. Only a small number did, at the
time. And today we have Christians, still have Jews, and the Bible.
Only by scrutinizing the Bible as a total manuscript can we determine
what God wants of us.

Pug,

Regarding the matter of how I became a GAR, the gates were already
closed when I first found the site, and no new Researchers were being
hired. I settled in and posted several hundred comments in an attempt
to make myself useful (while simultaneously hoping that my remarks
would constitute an "audition.") I was later brought onboard through
normal means, by going through the same screening procedures that all
Google Answers Researchers must pass. That's as much detail as I feel
comfortable in providing.

~Pink
