Well, no ... Sport is mostly a commercialised game but then so many pastimes have been commercialised. But thankfully, not all. |

In the U.S. it is awful now. Especially the NBA and the NHL - two great leaugues that are indeed what you call more industry, or entertainment, than sport. The National Football League has also been ruined by greed. It's nearly unwatchable. And the telecasts are horrible. Too many commericals, promos and cross-promotions. The commentary is non-stop and very intrusive. I am in the U.S., and as I type this, I am watching a live match between Crystal Palace and Fulham. What a breath of fresh air. Even the commentary is refreshing- because in England, the talent does not chatter away- letting the game breathe. It's really delightful. |
