Hi kevjmac,

I'm assuming your question is how to get the answer to equal 12 by
using the number 5 four times.

Here's how:

5 * 5 * .5 - .5 = 12

Here's step by step:

5 * 5 = 25

25 * .5 = 12.5

12.5 - .5 = 12

I hope that helps. If you have any questions regarding my answer, or
if I misunderstood the question, please don't hesitate to request
clarification before rating.

Best regards,
Rainbow

It seems to me that 55-5*5-5 =25 is more elegant.

(5+55)/5=12 I'm not sure the decimal point is legal.

Hi kevjmac,

I believe apologies are in order since after seeing matthewflaschen's
comment, I have to agree that would be the more logical answer.

Thank you matthewflaschen.

Best wishes,
Rainbow
