Hi All,

If someone could track this data down, it would be great.  I need the
height of all the vote-getting presidential candidates from 1789 to
the present.

I can probably do this for you, but as you list states, some of the
canidates are obscure.. denoted by the name of "others" in the list
you provide. Are you okay with a list of hieghts for all the "named"
canidates, without a hunt down of "others"

That would be fantastic. 


I am looking for this data b/c I want to run a probit/logit regression
on height and win/loss of an election.  I have a hunch, ignoring all
other factors, added height gives one a very small, but statistically
significant advantage.

Great question. In my mind this is about  height and success. Can't
wait to see the answer.  I'm looking at some of the comments and i'm
seeing a link to webpresidentsusa.com that i looked at with the
heights of US presidents.  But is says Bill Clinton was 6ft 2.  Surely
not? I haven't met him, but I was sure he was a good 6inches under
that? Can anyone confirm/deny?

Can't confirm for sure Clinton's exact height, but he's over six feet.
 I've been in a room with him at least twice, and I'm 5'8", and he's a
good bit taller than I am.
