Is it still possible to take a boat down the Illinois-Michigan Canal?

Hi ndbryan38,

Yes, certain boats are allowed on the Illinois and Michigan Canal. The
following information verifies this:


Boating information: 

Private boats, canoes, rowboats allowed. 
Outboard motors prohibited. 
Sandy launch areas

As you can see, Illinois & Michigan Canal is on the list but is noted
that sailing is not recommended.
