Thank you very much; it would have taken me all day to dig this up
myself. This is the first time I've tried this tool, and I can assure
you you'll be getting a tip for this one :)
That being said, I'm still not completely clear on who (one or more
companies working as a team) designed AND "developed" the site.
Did Metrix Internet Design GmbH "develop" the site as well, or did
they simply design the graphics while another company developed the
entire site? I am defining development as all of the work involved in
creating a website aside from the graphical design:
- Developing and/or consulting on the overall approach of the site,
its purpose and key initiatives, and its audience and how the site
should be built and structured to appeal to the audience
- Developing and/or consulting on the the different pages that the
site should consist of and its hierarchy, structure, sitemap, etc.
- Organizing, consulting, and/or developing content
- Programming and software development work including creating the
dynamic components (registration systems, etc.)
- Creating the back-end administration, etc.
Also, is Metrix a strickly German-speaking company?

Metrix internet design did in fact just do the design work.
The developement however was done in a cooperation between 1&1 and
elementar mediadesign GmbH. Main focus of the conception was to
increase the usability of the webpages.

Hi,
Thanks again. I'm sorry for requesting so much clarification; however,
I really want to get this figured out, and you've been a tremendous
amount of help so far. The question has ended up being worth a lot
more than I initially rated it as that, and, as such, my final rating
will be a lot higher than the initial one.
This should be my last request for clarification:
- Was anyone else involved with the creation of the site, including
writing content, programming, etc.?
- Who was responsible for the project coordination, and essentially
making it all fall into place?
- Did you speak with both companies over the phone in English, or German?

1.
As far as I was informed nobody else was involved in the project.
2.
As elementar mediadesign is specialised in full service of media
conception (Agentur für Konzeption in german)they might have been the
connecting and coodinating firm between 1&1 and metrix. They do
similar works for the Deutsche Telekom and several other companies.
3.
I spoke german with both companies but I´m sure you will find english
speaking contact persons in both companies.
