Hello hedgie-ga,
.
I could not find a replica or evidence of it's manufacture. It appears
there wasn't one for commerical gain or as a tribute. The words mambo
nordmende throw a blank in most searches and results are very limited
just for those two words, adding the word replica returns zero.
However I did find the original mambo for sale.
.
This one on a German site (translated into English by Google) is
priced at 159 DM (it may be slightly out of date but could be
worthwhile emailing the owner )

It is visually and technically OK.

The question was not
'what happens when one types mambo nordmende into a search engine?'.

There must be some retro manufactures in US. Who are they?
Perhaps their sites would have some info?

hello hegie-ga,
.
To input the search keywords is the most effective way to find the
content.
Using non specific keywords is not efficient in locating subject
matter.
As mentioned after extensive searching no information was revealed.
From personal feeling and association with the audio industry, a
replica would be most likely to be manfactured in China, where the
tooling, manufacturing costs and assembly is significantly cheaper.
Replicas would only be made if there was a demand, and from the web
research there appears to be no active user groups, clubs or websites
devoted to the radio Mambo, only very scarce and fragmented
information.
.
Google Answers want you to be happy with the research, if you are not
satisfied please let me know and I will retract the answer.

kind regards

Poor rating reflects unprofessional reaction (either arguing with
customer or talking down to him)

I am not sure which motivated his description and then defense of a
search strategy, which did not
produced the desired result. There are US sites which sell retro's (I
do not really care where they are made) and one offers to make replica
of any old radio. The list of those, would be more useful,
than analysis of economy of production, given that this particular
retro doe not seem to exist.
