Yeah, you must have your ID to identify yourself. |

Call Western Union yourself or visit their website and get the answer to that question yourself. Or ask your brother to visit any local bank to get their wire transfer number so you can wire the money from your bank to that bank. Or if either of you uses credit cards, try to get a cash advance on that credit card. |

i did both already, i called western union about that, and the rep told me you do not need id if there was a set pw. but the thing is i read online and it said you needed id? what is it??? my brother is actually not in the right time to call around and ask (would you be wondering and stressing where your wallet was and searching all over if you knew you had all your credit cards and money in there....), that is why iam here to ask. |

You contact your bank and explain the problem. They can probably fix something up bank-to-bank. |

Hope you have been able to assist you brother already; and commiserations to him. Whether or not you can use a Test Question seems to depend on the country. But the information given on the USA website is not clear. The telephone representatives would have the correct info for their own country, so what they told you must be correct; that ID is not needed if there is a Password. United States http://www.westernunion.com/info/faqMT.asp#faqsGeneral10 "Both senders and receivers may need to show a currently valid government-issued photo ID and provide additional information to meet U.S. government requirements, depending on the amount being sent or received." Ireland http://www.westernunion.com/info/faqMT.asp?country=IE#faqIntl2 "Customers receiving money only need a valid form of identification or, in some cases, the answer to a test question provided by the sender. And, depending on the amount of the transfer, senders may need to furnish identification or other information to meet U.S. government requirements." New Zealand http://www.westernunion.com/info/intlCountryInfoIndex.asp?country=NZ "Optional Money Transfer Services - Telephone Notification - Message - Test Question" United Kingdom http://www.westernunion.co.uk/info/osMoneyTransfer.asp "Test Question is NOT available in United Kingdom." |
