I am remodeling my house in Los Angeles. There is some special expensive lumber and plywood in my native Finland which I would like to use in my house (as not-drywalled 2x4 framing). I need to know what are (1) the custom duties for importing 2x4 boards and plywood, and (2) are there restrictions, rules, etc affecting or preventing me from importing construction lumber from Finland? | |

Free advice here ... there are a lot of companies out there that specialize in importing lumber from other countries. Let them deal with the headache of procurement, duties, and shipment. Sites to check out: [google search: lumber importer finland] http://www.globalwood.org http://www.importdatabase.com/finland.htm (membership required) Good luck. |
