Nobleresearcher,

Love is actually a really highly developed field of research. I don't
know that the above link does justice to even your $2 question, but it
is way more than skermit has given you.

I had the same curiosity once and I found a book at my university
library that divided love into: friendship love, passionate love,
rational love, and romantic love.

I suggest you go into a really good university library and find text
on the subject. There's so much to it. I found you two books at
Stanford, which could be your starting point.

ISBN: 0300039506 (alk. paper)
Title: The Psychology of love / edited by Robert J. Sternberg and
Michael L. Barnes.
Imprint: New Haven : Yale University Press, c1988.

ISBN: 0710203616
Author: Johnson, Robert A., 1921-
Title: The psychology of romantic love / Robert A. Johnson.
Imprint: London : Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1984, c1983.

from the Bible. First Corinthians 13;4.."Love is long suffering and
kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up.5.
does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does
not become provoked. It does not keep account of injury.6. It does not
rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.7. It bears
all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8. Love never fails".
First John 4;8.." He that does not love has not come to know God,
because God is Love".

Love is your puppy greeting you when you come home. Doesn't matter if
you've been gone for 2 minutes or 2 hours. Dogs give unconditional
love! :)

Best regards,
tlspiegel

Look in the mirror. Admire yourself. Take great pleasure in your
existence and your life. Run your fingers through your hair, stretch
your muscles, and breathe deeply. Now, imagine feeling that way both
about yourself and about someone else simultaneously. That is love.

You learn to love.
From God. He created it. And demonstrated!

Then you try to love.
Then you like it (anyone who tries do).

Then YOU CHOOSE TO LOVE.
It is a choice!

And then you realise that you are undefeatable.
You can walk through hell, and still have hope and faith. Hell could not keep you.

That is salvation.

PS
Of course, forget about lust and uncontrolable emotions. Get rid of
misconceptions that are all arround by media.
And enjoy. life. this part, and eternity.
