My dad is going to Paris in November and I would like to try and get
him a dinner reservation at the restaurant Jules Verne on the Eiffel
Tower. I've heard it's expensive. I'd like to know how expensive,
e.g., average cost for 2 people. I'd like to get their phone no. and
recommendations on when it's best to call and try and make a
reservation unless it's already too late given that November is fast
approaching.

Hi cink,

To reserve at Le Jules Verne Restaurant, one should try to do so as
early as possible, even a couple of months ahead. If your father is
taking his trip at the middle to end of November, he may have a very
good chance of dining at this elaborate and unique restaurant.

Below are some excerpts and reviews of the restaurant with information
regarding reservations and a few hints at the sort of prices one would
pay:

"The Jules Verne Restaurant is on the second platform of the Eiffel
Tower. A private elevator (you must have a reservation to gain access)
takes you 123 meters up, where a welcoming committee will greet you.
Although dinner is quite expensive, lunch is a very good value. There
is a lunch menu from Monday to Friday consisting of three courses for
45 euros and a selection of wines priced under 30 euros."

"Jules Verne, Eiffel Tower, 2nd Floor, Paris, 7ème; Tel: 01 45 556144
Fax: 01 47 052941 - The site is magical and it would take a conspiracy
to spoil a meal in such settings, a few hundred feet above the Seine
river. This is hardly a risk, as the kitchen delivers, day after day,
a cuisine that will make you never want to leave. Obtaining a dinner
reservation could be one of the most challenging tasks of your trip.
Very expensive."

"If you plan to splurge on anything, do it here: reserve a table for
lunch or dinner at Le Jules Verne, the superb French restaurant on the
second level of the Eiffel Tower. The menu is pricey - a prix-fixe
lunch is around 58 euros; dinner 132 euros - but the combination of
the heady view and the exquisite seasonal cuisine is not one you will
soon forget. It's especially enchanting at night, when the interior of
the restaurant is darkened and lit only by strategically placed
spotlights, so as not to distract from the twinkling spectacle of the
City of Light."

"You need to book 2 months in advance if you want to eat in the one
Michelin star Jules Verne restaurant (+1 45 556144) on the second
level of the Eiffel Tower (114 euros a head)"

Le Jules Verne
"No need to introduce Jules Verne, but you may have trouble booking,
even a month in advance. If you do manage to find a table, with Paris
and the Seine at your feet, the experience will be unforgetable. It's
like dining in a science-fiction setting of the 19th century, where
the food - and wine - stand up to the uniqueness of the location."

"The prestigious Jules Verne Restaurant is located on the second floor
and has its own private elevator access (south pillar).
The head chef, Alain Reix, has brought the restaurant an excellent
reputation, placing among the top in France (one star in the Guide
Michelin, 16/20 in the Guide Gault Millau).
Sitting in the heart of this intricate iron structure full of angles
and perspectives, the Jules Verne looks out over Paris from 125 meters
above ground."
