Who invented youth marketing? When and where? Youth marketing is the
strategy of marketing to teenagers by hiring influential/trend-setting
teens to use your products and tell their friends about them. The idea
behind the strategy is that teens are resistant to traditional
advertising but willing to believe word of mouth.

If it is not possible to pinpoint the origin of youth marketing in
terms of a single person or event, I would be satisfied to know the
general timeframe and context of the trend's emergence. For example, I
would consider it a complete answer if you were to say that the first
large-scale widely-known example occurred in London in the mid-1960s
with the Beatles or in New York in the mid-1980s with Nike.
