What happens when you stop takiing Vioxx?

Clarification of Question by infoplus-ga on 07 Oct 2004 19:21 PDT
I immediately stopped my daily 25mg Vioxx with the announcement on
Tuesday am. By today - 48 hours - I could hardly move, and by evening
had specific, intense aches in my joints. If this is withdrawal from
Vioxx, will it go away, and if so, how long will it take for my body
to readjust? Thanks

I have battled rheumatoid arthritis for many years, so I can certainly sympathize.

Vioxx is not addictive, so you are not technically suffering from
withdrawal, but obviously if you have a painful condition and are no
longer taking anything to treat it, there will be problems.

When your physician told you to stop taking Vioxx, did he or she not
discuss other options for treating pain and inflammation? Vioxx is not
the only drug of its class, and you shouldn't have to suffer.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a terrible condition that has really affected
my mother. She has been doing a lot better since she tried a natural
pain relief product we found on the internet by mistake. I was so
impressed about it, i put together a website to let others know it
exists.
