Silicon dioxide is sometimes added to foods as an anti-caking agent,
but I can't imagine why anyone would take it as a "supplement."
Essentially, silicon dioxide is pretty much the same thing as sand,
and is just as nourishing.

Powdered silicon dioxide can be very bad for you if it gets in your
lungs, but I have never heard of any health problems or benefits from
eating silicon dioxide.
