I have calculated the stiffness of a cylindrical pressure vessel for a
radial point load using a Roark formula. The cylinder has internal
pressure and it seems that this should increase the stiffness of the
pressure vessel for the radial point load. Is there a hand
calculation approach to account for this hydrostatic pressure
stiffening? Please provide a referencable source such as a textbook,
journal article, or possibly a web page.
