Maybe you could try an XP "System Restore" feature.
If you are still unable, you can use:
1) PC INSPECTOR File Recovery (FreeWare)
http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm
2) E-ROL (FreeWare) Is an activex that recovers deleted files via Internet.

thank you, i was able to recover all my photos from the camera cf.
recue plus is really nice.
