Hi gard0196, I wasn't able to find out if you need to get new tabs. Here is the informaion on the Vanity Plates: Specialty Personalized Plates http://www.dps.state.mn.us/dvs/MotorVehicle/specialplates.htm#Plates Fees Initial $100.00 Duplicate Replacement $14.00 double plate/$10.00 single plate A $7.00 filing fee is also due with each application (Filing Fee change effective July 1, 2001.)
