I am curator of a film festival and trying to find software or an Excel or Access template that allows me to design my festival's program guide. Just as TV executives do with their programming planning, I need a computerized charting system that allows me to layout my festival program in a grid, reflecting multiple venues, times and dates, as well as visual representations of the blocks of time and films showing. Any clues on software, shareware or templates I could try for this? |

Hi, I've conducted a search for film festival management software or event management software that can be used in a film festival scenario. It appears to me that there is not product available out there, that can be used "out of the box" to manage a film festival. However, I was able to find out that RiverRun Film Festival used software from SilkRoad Technology and MissionMode Solutions, Inc. http://www.filmcommissionhq.com/story.jsp?id=1007 I proceeded to visit the websites of both these companies to understand their product offerings. It appears to me that a combination of the solutions offered by these should take care of most of project management and event management difficulties in a film festival. Please review these offerings and let me know whether this helps you. In the meanwhile, I'll continue my search for something that's specifically geared toward this market. Regards, bestsearcher-ga |

You can check "Event Manager 2004" at www.infosoft.ca. This software has been used since 1998 to run festivals and schedule performances at multiply venues. Numerous frynge festivals, film festivals and even SBC Communications (PGA Events) use Event Manager to schedule resources at different venues. Infosoft also has a Room and Resource Scheduler which allows you to schedule any resource (film, person, anything) at multiple venues at various times using your internet browser to view. Hope this helps you. |
