Hello creamofcards

Thank-you for your question. I have picked 8 characters from the
legend of Robin Hood and summarised them using quotes from the
websites detailed below.

1) Friar Tuck
"The Friar joins the outlaw band when he proves his strength and good
humour by carrying Robin Hood across a river before dunking him in."

2) Maid Marian
"In the legend Marian is renowned as Robin's beautiful and clever
companion whose love for the Outlaw led her to a life in Sherwood
Forest."

3) Guy of Gisburne
"Sir Guy of Gisburne (also spelled Gisbourne, Gysborne or Gisborn) is
a villain in the Robin Hood legends. In The Ballad of Robin Hood and
Guy of Gisborne, in which Robin kills him and cuts off his head."

4) Sheriff of Nottingham
"The Sheriff of Nottingham is the chief official whose task it is to
pursue Robin Hood, who is under the ban of outlawry. His villainy
often extends also to a lecherous desire for Robin Hood's girlfriend,
Maid Marian."

5) Little John
"According to the legend he was a giant of a man with an ironic
nickname. Robin Hood first encountered him when he tried to prevent
Robin from crossing a narrow bridge. The two men then fought with
quarterstaffs, and Robin knocked him into the river. Impressed with
Robin's skill, John agreed to join his band and fight alongside him."

6) Will Scarlet
"Will Scarlet is one of Robin Hood's earliest and most trusted
comrades. Will is recruited to the outlaw band after he fights Robin
in the woods... Will Scarlet is known by many names, including
Gamelyn, Stukely, and Scathelock, which might mean 'lock-breaker'."

7) Allan A Dale
"Allan A Dale was a minstrel whose songs and music were regularly
heard throughout the leafy splendour of the Greenwood. Legend has it
that he was befriended by Robin and became an integral part of the
outlaw band."

8) Much the Miller's Son

the prison of the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Actually as i heard it at least , and displayed on 90s film of Robin
Hood, Little John fought Robin with the staffs but LJ easily put
Robin in the water with his brute strength. Little John laughed loudly
but was respectful of Robin's attempts to challenge such a big man and
then offered to be part of his group
