Is there somewhere in Barcelona, Spain, where we can plug in our laptop to a broadband connection? My husband is here on business and the wireless connection at the hotel and at Starbucks is not working well. Is there a public point where I can take the laptop and plug into a broadband connection? |

Greetings! There are several options available in Barcelona. I took the information below from the websites and articles listed. I did not call to confirm the presence of cabled (CAT-5) connections. According to an article in D-A-S-H Europe, wired (CAT-5) internet access is available at Infoespai. They are located at: Plaça del Sol 19-20 ground floor. Open from 10.00 to 22.00 every day. 08012 Barcelona T: 933907236 Fax: 933907237 ( http://eu.d-a-s-h.org/infoespai ) They have a small fee structure for certain services, including printing, but advertise that connections to the internet are free. They do not list the speed of the connection. Information in English is available here: http://www.infoespai.org/view.php?idz=e Additionally, pay-per-use cyber cafe's are available. Several that advertise laptop connections are listed below: Internet Exchange http://www.experienceparadise.com/db/1/advert/internet_cafes/no/Spain/all/Barcelona/0342427130/page.html El Cafe de Internet http://www.experienceparadise.com/db/1/advert/internet_cafes/no/Spain/all/Barcelona/0342424211/page.html Easy Internet Cafe is one of the largest, but does not list if they offer direct CAT-5 connections. ( http://www.easyinternetcafe.com/ ) They have two locations in Barcelona: http://www.easyeverything.com/map/bar1.html http://www.easyeverything.com/map/bar2.html Tangaworld Cybercafe seems to be the oldest, but again does not list if they offer direct CAT-5 connections: http://tangaworld.com/es/cibercafe/indexciber.htm This should allow you to connect more reliably to the internet while in Spain. If you require further information, please ask for a clarification before rating this question.
