Hi nobleresearcher,

What is a Modchip?
"A modchip is a small piece of hardware that is installed into an Xbox
and allows one to replace the original Xbox bios with a new bios of
choice. A bios is a small piece of software that provides basic
instructions for the Xbox’s hardware. Replacing the original bios in
the Xbox can allow one to do so much more with their Xbox such as:

Install and run the Linux operating system on their Xbox.
Add a larger hard drive.
Be able back-up their games and run them off the Xbox hard drive.
Watch DVD’s without purchasing the DVD kit.

There are a variety of available Xbox modchips, but the most popular
modchip is the Xecuter 2.3. This modchip is popular because it has
very few wires to solder and will work on any version Xbox."

What is a ModChip?

The ModChipStore.com MOD CHIPS are electronic chips that are added to
the your game console - modifying it to boot up all CDs or DVDs
depending on the console. It allows you to play Import games, CD-R
backups and DVD-R backups. During the Boot sequence your console
checks the Boot Information on the CD or DVD. This information is
missing on Backups. Import Games show a foreign one. The Mod Chip
injects the correct boot information. The chipkits include Full Color
Online Wiring Diagrams, Installation Guide, Wires and Solder!
The intended purpose of this chip is to allow you to use your game
console to play imports and backups of software that you legally own,
as is allowed by law. We accept no responsibility for the use of this
device to play copies of games you do not own. Using the modchip to
modify your console will void your warranty.
