As far as I can tell, a relationship is unlikely. Firstly, Sinclair
oil is owned by the Holding family, not the Sinclair family. Earl
Holding bought it in the early seventies from the Atlantic Richfield
Company, who had in turn acquired it in 1969. Secondly, Sinclair
Broadcasting was founded by Julian Sinclair SMITH in 1986. Sinclair
was his middle name. Hope this helps.
"Julian Smith, a 1952 electrical engineering graduate, had a
successful career in radio and television broadcasting, establishing
Baltimore's Channel 45 in 1971. In 1986, Smith and his family began
the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, now a nationwide enterprise." --

"In 1974, [Earl Holding] added the Sun Valley ski resort to his
holdings, restoring its aging glamour with a $100 million face-lift. A
few years later, he bought Sinclair Oil - refineries, pipelines and
hundreds of gas stations - from Atlantic Richfield." --
