I'd like to know how fast (in mph) a 747 and a 767 are flying when
they land. I would like the speed just as they land, just before they
make contact with the ground.

Dazinith --

According to Air New Zealand, the landing speed for a Boeing 747-400,
one of the newer long-range versions, the landing speed is 200 km/h or
124 mph. This is the landing configuration with full flaps and slats
deployed, which slow the aircraft significantly over its "clean"
landing speed.

The Boeing 767-300 and 767-200 both land at 240 Km/h or 149 mph:

The first Boeing flight test of the 747, a model 100, on Feb. 9, 1969
landed the plane at Everett's Paine Field at 150 mph -- but this was
an initial test without the heavy load used in daily flight:

Both aircraft, being wide-body planes, are produced at the wide-body
plant here in Everett, WA. The factory tour is highly recommended if
you ever get to Seattle:

The speed always depends on the payload and the fuel left in the
tanks, the 747-400 with about 1/2 tank of fuel would come in at about
165 mph, with barely any fuel left id say 123 mph like said before,
the 767 Generaly has and aproach speed around 160 mph.
